Banana Plantation solve livelihood problems
Mr. Sushil Turi Son of Rameshwar Turi, lives with his father, mother, 2 brother and 1 sister. They have 2 acres land. He lives in Kasira village it’s a revenue village of panchayat Umra, Palkot Gumla(Jharkhand). Earlier he only used to cultivate vegetables seasonally; there was a lack of information. They had less food for the family and were taking only one time food. He was forced to live a life with extreme poverty. He used to get engaged and depended on making bamboo Pot throughout the years and he was not earning enough money for livelihood. Mr. Sushil Turi attended regular meetings then after he got information about farming and also about climate resilient farming system and also about various horticulture schemes. Linkage process was given by Naya Sawera Vikas Kendra and Caritas India. Organization supports for organic cultivation methods. Use of vermicompost, vermiwash, matkakhad, organic repellents etc. He also took complete information about how to use organic seeds. By the great support and guidance of NSVK and by attending training now he had received 300 BANANA saplings promoted by NSVK linked from District Horticulture Department, Gumla. This will support Mr. Sushil Turi for his sustainable future which will help him to double his income for livelihood. He had a well irrigated facilities available and water resources. AT the same time he also got many training provided Naya Sawera Vikas Kendra (NSVK)on various agriculture techniques to double his income, how to recycle the farm waste etc.He also got knowledge on land preparation, planting method, about planting material and season, its spacing etc, (package of practices) which will help him to earn maximum benefits and will harvest more yield he was also given knowledge on market linkage as he will sell his harvest through the company (Dharitri Utpadak Farmers Producer Company Ltd.) supported by NABARD.
